THE YASAWA ISLANDS

Mad Monkey Travel. The Backpacker Experts.

The majestic Yasawa Island group is the playground for Awesome Adventures Fiji. This chain of 20 ancient islands is undoubtedly one of the most stunning regions in Fiji. Formed millions of years ago by volcanoes, the southern most islands of Kuata and Waya Lailai have dramatic elevations. The pristine beaches and dramatic landscape provide a beautiful environment in which to relax and enjoy activities.

Further north, azure lagoons surround white sandy beaches. This is the famous Blue Lagoon – the Fiji you dream of. As the name suggests, the water is the most inviting shades of blue you will ever see!

Many of the islands are home to traditional island villages, who make up the Awesome Adventures Fiji experience. With over 20 resorts, mostly Fijian owned and operated. Sheltering in the peaceful bays of the islands of Kuata, Waya and Waya Lailai, Viwa, Naukacuva, Nanuya Balavu, Drawaqa, Naviti, Yaqeta, Matacawalevu, Nanuya Lailai, Tavewa and Nacula.

Blue Lagoon Resort

You can’t dream of a more beautiful beach than this one. Pure white sand, azure waters and swaying palm trees set the scene for the up-market Blue Lagoon Resort.

Picture paradise and you’ll start to get a good idea of the setting of this lovely resort. Situated on one of the most stunning stretches of beaches, you won’t believe the beauty until you see it yourself.

The island of Nacula has soft rolling peaks, which reach down to the sandiest stretch of beach you’ve ever seen. The water is a mix of aqua and turquoise that will make you want to dive right in.

Now for the resort: Blue Lagoon is up-market, modern and has a fantastic Fijian flavour to it. The accommodation is superb and caters to the flash-packer, families, and the honeymoon market.

The accommodation options range from award-winning dorms to Bula Lodge Rooms to the more up-market garden villas. The sand-floor beachside restaurant and bar is a feature of the resort, with a full range of drinks. It’s kind of like a cool city bar but on the beach! The chefs like to utilise local ingredients and add their flair to the tasty menu.

There is a range of awesome activities, but do leave some time for lazing in that hammock! Blue Lagoon Beach Resort works closely with the people of Nacula village, who work in the resort and share their way of life with you.

You’ll wish you had longer to stay at Blue Lagoon Beach Resort!
